Pocket Gaffer

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 26 January 2025

1. What data we collect

When you use Pocket Gaffer, we collect:

  • Account information: Your email address and password (securely hashed).
  • Team and player data: Player names, squad lists, and match information you enter.
  • Match reports: Playing time, events (goals, assists), and generated summaries.
  • Billing information: Payment details are handled by Stripe (we don't store card numbers).

2. Why we collect it

We use your data to:

  • Provide the Pocket Gaffer service (tracking matches, managing teams).
  • Process payments and manage your subscription.
  • Send important service-related emails (receipts, account notices).
  • Improve the app based on usage patterns (anonymised analytics).

3. Who we share it with

We share data only with:

  • Stripe: Our payment processor, for billing purposes.
  • Infrastructure providers: To host and run the service securely.

We never sell your data or share it with advertisers.

4. How long we keep it

We keep your data while your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days (except where required by law, e.g., billing records).

5. Your rights

Under UK/EU data protection law, you have the right to:

  • Access the data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate data.
  • Request deletion of your data.
  • Export your data (data portability).
  • Object to certain uses of your data.

To exercise these rights, contact us or email hello@pocketgaffer.co.uk.

6. Children's data

Pocket Gaffer is used by adult coaches to manage youth teams. Player names entered by coaches may include children's first names. We minimise this data and never market directly to children. We recommend coaches only enter first names (not full names) for privacy.

7. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. Passwords are securely hashed.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy occasionally. We'll notify you of significant changes via email or in-app notice.
